Self-Control

I like to think I have a good sense of self-control. Yet, I still go to bed later than I planned. It takes more than One More Match™ for me to stop playing Super Smash Bros. or Rocket League. I eat a little too much to stay in my preferred weight class in jiu-jitsu.

You win some, you lose some. Recently, I experienced the latter.

Last weekend was the Pittsburgh Jiu-Jitsu Classic. It had been a few months since my last tournament and I’ve been looking forward to competing in the blue belt division since my promotion on Cinco De Mayo.

I’m officially a quarter of a century old. This milestone means that I now relate to 4 Non Blondes. They knew what was going on all along.

I have no shame in admitting that I share the musical taste of a teenage girl. A few songs in Purpose are particularly infectious, including “Love Yourself,” “Sorry,” “Where Are Ü Now,” and “What Do You Mean?
